By now I’m sure you’ve seen the standard fall photo all over Instagram of someone looking down at their feet standing on their doormat. It’s everywhere, and my Insta is no different.
I have posted a few pictures now that show glimpses of my porch styled for fall and each time I do, someone asks me where I got the doormat and buffalo check rug that I currently have at our front door.
Today on the blog I am sharing with you how I achieved this adorable, yet simple fall/winter look.
First, you are going to want to pick out a doormat. Since we are pairing it with a buffalo check pattern, I suggest choosing a neutral doormat — a bright-colored mat isn’t going to look great contrasted against the black and white rug underneath it.
I bought my “Home Sweet Home” mat from Target, but I think this one from their Hearth & Hand with Magnolia line would look great, too.
I’m also obsessed with this one from Kirkland’s because it says “Let’s Stay Home,” and let’s face it, that’s my mantra.
Speaking of Kirkland’s, that’s where I found the buffalo check rug I used under my doormat.
Buffalo check is on-trend right now, and I honestly have it throughout my house. I’m constantly having to tell myself to stop buying things in this pattern.
I will say, this rug is sold out online but is available in store. What you can do is head to kirklands.com and on the rug’s product page where it says “Available in store,” type in your zip code to find the closest store to you where it’s in stock. That’s what I did.
If that particular rug isn’t available at your local Kirkland’s, Amazon has several that are comparable. I did a search for “Buffalo Check Rug” and it returned plenty of options.
Once you’ve got your two rugs, set them out at your front door, and snap your own Instagram-worthy photo!
I hope you enjoy your new look!
