Sometime last year — before baby No. 2 was even on our radar — I started transforming our playroom into a cozy space for our then family of 3. You can read about those updates here, and boy does that post feel like it was written a lifetime ago.

Fast forward to 2023 and here we are; A new family of 4! We welcomed baby girl in January and have adored watching our son become a big brother.

With two littles, we spend even more time in the space we call our playroom family room. And with all the hours I log on the couch up here nursing the baby, I decided the plain white walls could use some dressing up.

I’ve loved the Magnolia Home watercolor check wallpaper since we used the black and white print in Jack’s original nursery in our first house.

For our playroom, I wanted a quick project I could spin up in a weekend or two so I ordered the the peel and stick version in the blue/gray color.

We used the pre-pasted wallpaper for Jack’s room back in 2019, and while that was much easier to work with, the peel and stick went up much faster.

I am in love with how it turned out! It has a whimsical feel, which is perfect for a fun-filled space such as a playroom. And, to be honest, it just makes me happy to look at as we spend so much time in here.

Here are some more pictures of our playroom family room! By the way, the only reason it’s clean is because I woke up before our 3-year-old this morning and organized a bit. If only you could see it now!
