There was a moment last year where I thought transitioning our then-one-and-a-half-year-old out of his crib and into a toddler bed would help him sleep better in his room.

I was hopeful, but I was wrong.

Now, just a few short months later and only slightly wiser in my motherhood journey, I am again hopeful that our sleep situation can be resolved by introducing a larger bed to our toddler’s room.

I have been dreaming up a “big boy” bedroom for him for some time now, and am heart eyes crazy over the mood board I put together. It perfectly captures my vision for a vintage-inspired space.

I have been searching for a true antique Jenny Lind full-size bed for over a year now, and let me tell you, they are few and far between. And the ones that do pop up on Facebook Marketplace or in second-hand stores cost an arm and a leg. I found this black metal frame bed with a similar shape and lines that I’m looking for, and I think it will really anchor his bedroom.

Aside from a new bed, I want to incorporate vintage-inspired touches with this cool flush mount light fixture from Hunter Fan Company, a fun pennant flag or two, and a plaid area rug. I love the shade of this green quilt, and thought that these striped sheets in gray would help tie the bedding together. Toss in a few decorative items like pillows and a throw blanket, and we are done!

What do you think? Is this a room that will grow with our little guy?
