This was my last weekend before starting back to work from maternity leave, and thanks to the Coronavirus, I’m working from home.
We actually enjoyed a really nice, quiet weekend at home together.
Justin did a little work on our bathroom remodel project by painting and hanging the mirror, but work is stalled until our floor samples arrive this week and we decide which one we’re going with.
After a very difficult Friday of fighting sleep for naps (hello, growth spurt), Jack napped like a champ in his crib on Saturday and Sunday with big sister Lucille standing guard.
We also enjoyed lots of playtime with our very happy and well-rested boy.
And on Sunday we celebrated Jack turning 12 weeks old, while I quietly celebrated a personal victory of making it to 12 weeks breastfeeding.
When Jack was a teeny-tiny newborn and literally nursing non-stop, I had MANY moments when I told myself and Justin “this isn’t for me.” I couldn’t bring myself to stop breastfeeding him, though, and switch to formula (for the record, I don’t think there is anything wrong with formula feeding … fed is absolutely best).
Breastfeeding has gotten easier, and as I nursed my baby boy on Sunday I was incredibly proud of myself for persisting and for reaching 12 weeks.
That’s all for this weekend, friends!
