Like most of the country, we are hunkered down in self-isolation right now to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.

It’s pretty scary and weird times, to be honest. Especially when we have a 6-week-old baby to care for. Of course our No. 1 concern right now is to keep him safe and healthy, and to keep ourselves healthy, too. I am Jack’s food source, so me getting sick would be devastating.

But, enough about that. In an attempt to maintain some normalcy around here, I’m sharing a post I’ve been working on since before quarantine.

As a new mama, I am so excited to have Jack here for Easter (his first holiday). I know he will only be 2 months old when it rolls around next month, but that doesn’t mean he won’t get an Easter basket! It’ll just be filled with newborn-friendly finds.

If you’re in the same boat as us and this is your babe’s first Easter, here are some practical ideas for basket stuffers that won’t be a waste of money.

Customized basket: I ordered Jack this basket and liner with his name embroidered on it. I love that we will be able to use this for him for years to come. If an embroidered basket isn’t your style, I found this adorable basket from Hearth & Hand.

Books: There are oodles of Easter and spring themed books on the market, but my favorites include this Peter Rabbit Classic Collection (we actually already have this box set and love it), this P is for Peter board book, and this Peter Rabbit soft book.

Pajamas: No matter your child’s age, Easter jammies are a great addition to their basket (or for them to wear to bed the night before Easter). These are the PJs I ordered for Jack.

Teether toys: Of course, a carrot teether is perfect for Easter. However, this rainbow teether is adorable and is giving major spring vibes.

Plushies: How about a soft bunny lovey or a cute Peter Rabbit stuffed animal?

Baby wash and lotion: These are two things you’re always going to need, and they will fit perfectly in an Easter basket. For Jack’s basket, I opted for lavender scented wash and lotion to encourage relaxation (and hopefully better sleep).

Toys: For our newborn, I thought these soft blocks would be a great addition to his first Easter basket. If your baby is closer to 1 year, though, this carrot game is adorable.

Clothes: Jack is growing so fast and is close to needing spring/summer clothes in the next sizes up. Since spring sales are happening right now, it’s a great time to snag a few pieces for your little one’s easter basket. I got Jack a pair of swim trunks and some baby sandals for a beach trip in the next few weeks (quarantine status permitting).
