If you are on the hunt for a white sofa, I have one for you to consider.
In November we bought the World Market Ivory Feather Filled Brynn Sofa for our “formal” living room. I use the the word formal loosely because, well, there is nothing remotely formal about us. But I guess we consider the living space downstairs in our home as more of a formal space compared to our hybrid family and play room upstairs.
With that being said, I wanted the furniture we chose for this space to fit a neutral, light aesthetic. The living room is open to our kitchen, and all I could envision was a beautiful white sofa to plop down on in front of the cozy fireplace on cold winter nights and on chilly early mornings while I sip my coffee.
I couldn’t picture anything other than a white sofa in here. And I searched for months for the exact right one before I landed on the World Market Ivory Feather Filled Brynn Sofa. The best part was, at the time I ordered it, it was stocked and ready to ship. And it arrived within one week of ordering. Unlike every other furniture retailer I looked at that quoted at least a three-month shipping delay.
Plus, it’s priced fairly for the quality of the piece, in my opinion.
Three months after buying my dream white sofa, I am still thrilled with our decision. Even with a messy toddler, a great Pyrenees puppy who bathes herself in mud, and myself (who spills coffee like it’s my job), I do not regret bringing a white sofa into our house.
I feel compelled to add — because there are a lot of negative opinions on the internet toward homes with white sofas — that having a white sofa is a personal preference. ALL sofas get dirty, and I simply prefer to see the dirty so I know when to clean it.
Speaking of keeping this beauty clean, it’s important to know that not all white sofas are created equal. The main reason I was most attracted to this World Market one is because the fabric is performance — meaning it wipes clean easily — and the cushion covers zip off so they can go in the wash or to the dry cleaners.
From the moment the sofa arrived, though, I loved how plush the feather filled cushions are. Sitting on them is what I imagine sitting on a cloud feels like. Plus, the sofa is the perfect lounge piece because of how deep it is. I also appreciate that the cushions are reversible, so I can flip them over if necessary, in a pinch.
The last thing I adore about this sofa is the modern, modular design. I’m a sucker for clean, crisp lines, and this beauty definitely has that.
If a white sofa isn’t your cup of tea but you still want to give the Feather Filled Brynn Sofa a whirl because it is incredibly comfortable, priced right, and is a lovely, modern but traditional piece for your living space, then you’re in luck. It also comes in navy blue!
