With the arrival of spring weather here in North Carolina, I am daydreaming of patio dining in our backyard.

Last summer we had a concrete slab poured off of our screened in porch, and then we never really did anything with the space outside of using it to hold our grill. This year, though, I am ready to liven our patio and make it a spot we can dine al fresco during the warm days ahead.

Our current set up isn’t ideal or as aesthetically pleasing as I would prefer. And the slab could certainly benefit from a good pressure washing.
Here is the mood board I’ve pulled together to make our outdoor space a little more cozy:

For our patio dining update, I ordered two sets of these chairs on sale. Our patio table was new last year, so I kept it and intend to refinish it since it did weather a little during winter. A big new rug will help cover the concrete slab and bring the indoors out (my favorite). And, a white steel pergola from Backyard Discovery with string lights will make this a romantic dining spot for Justin and me.
I will keep you updated on the progress of our patio on Instagram and here on Dammit, Hali!
