Shoe shopping is never my favorite thing to do.
I typically avoid it until I simply can’t any longer, which is what happened at the start of spring.
I cleaned out my closet in January/February and completely overhauled my wardrobe (which led to my spring capsule wardrobe), and in the process, I discovered that I needed new shoes.
No, really.
I had two pairs that I wore regularly and the soles were so worn down that I was basically walking like Fred Flintstone each time I put them on.
Like I said, shoe shopping is my least favorite thing to do.
I finally sucked it up, though, and added some new kicks to my wardrobe for spring and summer.
From sandals to wedges to sneakers (and at various price points) here’s what I’m wearing on my feet:
P.S. they’re all neutral so they can be styled with multiple outfits.
Blush espadrille wedges
I fell head over heels (haha!) for these microsuede wedges from Target because they reminded me of a more expensive pair from Soludos that I had my eye on.
In the short time I’ve had these, I’ve already gotten a lot of wear out of them and love that they pair so easily with shorts, jeans, and dresses for spring and summer. They come in four neutral colors, too — blush, gray, cognac, and taupe.

Black crossover flat sandals
Also from Target are these casual black crossband sandals. I have awkwardly long toes, so I love how the thick bands cover most of my foot. As a flat sandal, they are definitely a good neutral staple to have on hand and also come in a gorgeous cognac shade.

Blush slip-on sneakers
When I bought these Keds slip-ons, I had been searching for something similar for a while. I have a narrow foot, though, and had tried a few other brands before these and they all were too wide for me.
I wanted something that I could quickly toss on as I’m heading out the door on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and that’s just what these are. They look cute with shorts, jean, or leggings, and are ultra comfortable with their foam support footbed.

White Keds originals
I haven’t had a pair of classic Keds since the ’90s, but I wanted to give them a try. They have foam footbeds just like the slip-ons above, so they are extremely comfortable. Plus, I love how timeless and classic the style is.
I have been pairing mine with shorts now that it’s warm, as well as casual dresses.

Cognac mules
Another Target favorite are these woven slides. They have been my go-to shoes for work lately because they are comfortable, easy to slip on and off (I like to take off my shoes at my desk), and the cognac color pairs well with almost anything — yes, even black pants, skirts, and dresses.
Plus, mules are super trendy right now and at $25 are budget friendly.

Stone Birkenstock sandals
I have a rule when it comes to shoes. While I am frugal in almost every way of life, I will splurge on a good pair of shoes if I know they will last for years. When it comes to sandals, Chacos are typically my splurge (I even wore custom-made Chacos to my wedding).
I wanted to mix it up, though, and give Birkenstocks a try. Much like the Keds, I haven’t had a pair of Birks since I was a kid and couldn’t believe how comfy they are. Seriously, they provide the best arch support I’ve had in a long time, and I love that the straps are adjustable since I have such a narrow foot.
As you can probably tell in the photo above, I have been wearing these daily since they arrived, and I wear them with everything.

Cognac block heel sandals
I appreciate a good block heel and these sandals from Steve Madden provide exactly that.
Also in cognac (favorite shoe color!), they are great for the office and are comfortable and easy to walk in. The heel is about 3 inches, which is perfect for me for daily wear.
